More in depth than yesterday's post!

Ok, so since I made yesterday's post extremely brief I feel that I should make up for it today and write you guys a really long blog to make up for all the days that I didn't keep you posted. So here it goes.
So pretty much once I moved into my dorm any form of communication through my computer pretty much came to a halt. Since my housing, somehow, lacks any wireless on any floor other than the 1st floor I am very disappointed that that is the case (seeing as how I am in NYC going to Parsons, but whatever). I get internet on Tuesday so it's ok.
Orientation went well. Met a few people and made a friend! So I am no longer really friendless in NYC anymore! I got to schedule all the classes that I wanted to this semester, though I have a grand total of 9 classes (8 being actual classes, and 1 internship) So I will be pretty slammed this semester, esp. if I get a job.
I bought a Juicy Peacoat, so I finally have a peacoat, and sometime next week I will be buying myself a really cute Gucci bag for school (I ended up returning the planner, I know what you're thinking!)
I discovered yesterday that I have a mouse for another roommate! I actually saw it crawling around my dorm a few times. It's a cute mouse, too bad they are going to kill it. Oh well such is life, I really don't want to live with a mouse in my dorm so it's for the best.
I was going to do something other than the question of the day but I forgot what it was. So until I remember what it was I keep doing the questions.

Question of the Day:

What is the one thing you would change about the world?

It's Been A While

So it's been a while since my last blog but I have a good explanation. I have not really had internet service since I've moved into my dorm. There is really sooooo much I would like to talk about but I don't really feel like typing a lot since I am trying to finish up my essays for my admissions application, so I could type up an essay tomorrow but we shall see. Tuesday next week my blog entry should be pretty long. So until then, au voir!!!!!!

Question of the Day:

Louis Vuitton or Chanel?

Another Application, Another Due Date Coming Up!

So I went to another advisor meeting today and we spoke about the Design and Management program at Parsons. Basically what it is is a degree that allows you to be the liaison between the business world and the design world. I would help both sides communicate to each other to get things done. Anyways, after having a nice discussion with the advisor (who also said that I would be the perfect candidate for the program) I got extremely ecstatic about the idea of being accepted into the program.
I had previously looked into the program but initially put that major to the side because it requires a lot of work to apply to the major and I would not have been able to move to Parsons till the fall if accepted into the program. But this meeting has opened my eyes and has really got me excited about applying.
The application process requires 7 different supplemental projects, 3 creative design projects and 4 written projects. The 3 creative projects requires that I use 3 different mediums they have given me (drawing, photography, 3-D design, computer design, collage, video, or a combination of the options) and use them to create my own original designs. 3 of the written projects have to be about 150 words and must describe my 3 creative designs. The last written project has to be about 500-550 words and must describe how I solved a problem using my creative and analytical skills.
It sounds like a lot, I know, especially with a Feb. 1st deadline, but I am more that happy to work my tail off to get this application done! I still need to find a job as well so I can generate some income! So if anyone knows of any job openings available let me know! I still love NYC and am sooo happy that I am here!

Day 2 of My Big Adventure

So day 2 has been pretty productive. Went to Parsons to submit a housing change request, went to my advisor meeting, and started applying for some jobs! I walked about 30 some blocks then finally caved in and took the subway (though it was bc I was going to be late for my meeting if I walked there, so I felt justified). Monthly subway passes are WAY expensive, although it is unlimited ($81 for unlimited rides per month) so since I'll be using the subway a lot its worth the money!
The morning started off bitter and snowy and it was wonderful to walk in! As the day progressed the snow stopped and it just became cold. I feel like a true New Yorker, even though I've only been here for 2 days. Random thought, I really hate the Kids Bop CD's I think they are extremely stupid and are for over protective parents who have issues; majority of the songs on the CD are not even very inappropriate when sung by the original artist. But anyways, I also got my school i.d. today. Everything is falling into place and I have getting extremely excited for school to start up soon! I miss everyone in Ohio and hope all is well!

Peppermint or Spearmint?

In New York City!

So I had to wake up at 4:30 am this morning and finish packing up everything. I said all my goodbyes to everyone I needed to and went on my way to the airport. My aunt picked me up and took me to the airport. Now as I stood in line waiting for a kiosk I began looking at my bags and thinking, "Hmmm, they maybe over 50 lbs." So I go up to the kiosk and check in and they take my bags, turns out one of my bags was 7 lbs over 50lbs. Now as you could imagine I had to do some split second thinking and I decided to grit my teeth and pony up $90 on top of the $40 I already put for my two bags (the alternative was worse, $15 for bag 1, $25 for bag 2 & $125 for bag 3! $125!!! Seriously?).
The flight was excruciatingly boring. I was surrounded by middle-aged business men and women who were either chattering away about business or sleeping from their lack of down town. I decided to go to sleep as well, since I have a big day ahead of me. The plane was heated, which was quite odd I thought. So I landed about 10 minutes earlier than expected and gathered my things got into a cab and so now I'm at my mom's place in the Upper East Side.
It is a gorgeous sunny winter day. The sky is blue and clear with no clouds in site. I am overwhelmed with so many emotions, but to think that I finally have the opportunity to do what I have to do. I am excited to see what the future has in store for me! I will definitely keep my blog updated for those who read this! I miss all my friends so much and wish them nothing but the best. Thanks for all your support!!!

Question of the Day:
Paper or plastic? (I'm feeling lazy lol)

Starting a Blog for the First Time

Ok so this will be my first attempt to keep a blog. To be honest I never really thought blogs were really worth reading or typing up really. But my good friend Sujie has inspired me to try and keep a blog myself. Especially since I am going to be moving away from Ohio and many of my friends maybe wondering what I am up to in the Big Apple.
So here is a little bit about me. I am 21, I used to attend the Ohio State University as a Textiles & Clothing Major. I am transferring to Parsons The New School for Design as a Fashion Marketing Major. My mother lives in NYC and my sister goes to the College of Idaho currently but is planning on transferring to FIDM (Fashion Institute for Design & Marketing) in L.A. I love high fashion and have a passion for handbags and accessories. I hope to one day be able to design my own line or work for a company such as Louis Vuitton or Yves St. Laurent designing handbags and accessories. I enjoy walking around Madison Ave. and going into all the high fashion stores and looking to see what is up and coming and what is popular.
I love running! I have run 2 half marathons in the past and hope to run more in the future. I also enjoy swimming and diving. I try to keep a very active lifestyle.
My life has been a a bit of a roller coaster ride the past few years. With 3 failed relationships, numerous jobs, school, a social life and more, I have become much wiser and more sure of who I am as a person.
I leave tomorrow for NYC so I am just doing some laundry and finishing up my packing. I would to start a trend in my blogs and I think I will end each blog with a random question. I you feel like answering feel free, I would love to hear from you!

What is your favorite season?
